Welcome!

Who’s That Girl…….

That Girl is a 37-year-old woman, living bi-coastally, dividing her time between St. Petersburg, Florida and Hollywood, CA. She has been in the music industry 15 years, before she was old enough to buy beer for the first band she worked for. Her start in the business was sheer accident. Doing a favor for a friend, she worked a concert as a local assistant by running errands for a band. Taking the group to and from their hotel, setting up their dressing rooms and getting them take away Chinese food. That band was the Counting Crows.

At that show, she was introduced to a Florida Promoter and he started using her for all of his shows. Fast forward five years & 250 local shows later, she found herself on her very first tour. That tour was Michael Flatley’s “Riverdance.” She worked as a catering assistant, beggars can’t be choosers when they want to tour! That would be the first & only time in the catering world. That Girl wanted to be a touring production assistant. And after her one month catering stint for hungry Irish dancers who preferred Lucky Charms over hot cooked meals, the Celine Dion tour presented her with a position that would keep her busy almost 2 years. And more tours followed sooner after.

Her touring career has spanned 9 years, 6 continents and countless time zones. Antarctica, That Girl will get there to visit, promise! That Girl has toured with Celine Dion, Creed, Coldplay, blink-182, Korn, The Go Go’s, Yes, David Copperfield, Riverdance, Evanescence, Def Leppard and for about 30 seconds for Janet Jackson. Despite all the demands and temptations the road has, she’s never tried a drug in her life & seldom drinks. She’s tamer than her peers and chooses to work out, hide in her in hotel room on days off and has an obsession for sending postcards from every city to her family. That Girl prefers to live vicariously thru her crew that quickly becomes her surrogate family & dearest of friends.

And now that you know who she’s worked for, don’t expect this online diary to dish dirt or reveal any specific band or their crew. It’s up to the reader to decide who she’s working for. This online diary is more for That Girl than for you, but she thanks you for coming to visit and deciding to explore the site. Hopefully, you are mildly entertained by her grandiose vision of someday attaining a book deal.

Names are changed to protect the not so innocent. But her life is real, the stories are real and so is the chaos & confusion. Welcome to life on tour – let the journey begin……
