On the Road

The pathetic act of a self-appointed title has gotten out of control. Email after email, everyone has a tag at their end of the message with their name, mobile number, email address and then of course – a title – “their title.” The title is always a font larger than everything else and prominently displayed for all recipients. Just a friendly reminder on the caliber of idiot they’re about to exchange carbon copy emails with.

I understand the need for hierarchy and can digest the food chain laid out for consumption. I acknowledge the necessity so new people introduced to the environment know where they stand and where NOT to stand. I respect those working their asses off in the stratosphere of touring and I’ve the same amount of respect those out in the ether; those untouchable celebrities who reside in their own exospheres. Must we declare our job titles and what compels us to do so? Trust me, I am doing my diplomatic damnedest not to reveal any specific titles because then you’ll think I am calling out a specific few posers. I’m not – I’m just over it. Over the whole bullshit pompous parade of people reminding others of who they think they are.

I’ll always play down my position versus pretending I’m a big fish in a very small pond. I’d rather someone discover my value than for me to tell them or worse yet, remind them of who I think I am. The only person allowed to behave larger than life is the artist – period.

I’ll gladly share with you for WHOM I work but I don’t care to reveal what I do for them. And I’m not exactly sure of what I do but I know it takes me all day to do it.

It’s just me. Title not included.

What? No title? Then they can’t put you in a box. Ha ha ha
One of the things I don’t miss about LA? Everyone is trying to be someone they are not. Why are you so insecure with just being yourself? Why do you have to be larger than life? Just be happy being you I say - its a hell of a lot easier to explain and a lot less stressful too. Happy touring to you my friend and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Graduation is 8/25!

    Peace,

    Rob
