Do you take advantage? No, not of others but of life. Do you take advantage of life? I am starting to discover I don’t…. well, not enough. As you read this, you must be thinking - how is it that someone who gets paid to travel the world, works with rock stars & has been to more countries in one year than most ever travel to in a lifetime….. how is this possible?! Opportunity is all around yet most of us fail to embrace what is accessible everyday. I live on the beach in Florida, which is actually my backyard, so, how often do you think I walk on it? Almost never. When I am home (average being 14 days out of 60) I may plunge my toes into the sand maybe once. Yet, it’s the first thing I see in the morning when I wake up. When I leave my house, the ocean is what waves me off and when I return, it welcomes me home. It’s in front of me all the time yet I am blind to taking part in it. This is only one example, so if it’s right in front of me - what else am I blind to? Even when you are aware, with eyes wide open, it is possible to still be blind. Something will always impede our vision of how it could be, should be, versus how it really is. And really, life is f**king amazing. A New Years resolution I shall embrace is to take advantage of what is around me, everyday. I take advantage of all the lovely places in the world I am afforded the opportunity to travel to…. but what one must focus on is simply what surrounds us everyday and embrace it as if we have traveled from a distant land to experience it.
