Clips of road life flash before my eyes, enhancing the song, drawing everyone into the back story of road life with a band & their crew. Band photos of years past, photos just taken hours prior to the show, flash on the video screen that displays the band, effects & lights in all their glory. I am standing in the audience, finally taking a moment to witness the show I actually work for. Its quite sad, it can take up to two months for me to actually step out of my office backstage to see & hear the band I work for. Its something I rarely ever do. When I do, its liberating. Its breathtaking actually. To hear the audience…. to feel the electric excitement in the air. To watch the boys, whom I see usually half dressed backstage - glued to their apples & blackberries - emerge and become larger than life. Briefly, I stand in the crowd and I am one with the audience. Thankfully, I have the pass that can take me back to my world, backstage, back to where I belong.
